Colombia is one of the most beautiful countries in Latin America. You will find the most beautiful beaches, beautiful villages and breathtaking nature. Colombia is a very big country, you can never see all the beautiful things. That is why we have made a selection of the most beautiful places in Colombia!

1. Medellín

Although Bogota is the capital of Colombia, many travelers prefer Medellin. Where in the past this city was known as one of the most unsafe places in the world, it has now become one of the ‘hotspots’ of the country. Medellìn, also known as the ‘city of eternal spring’, is a hip and bustling city. You will find many expats and fellow travelers there and there is an incredible amount to see. The city is full of the most beautiful works of art, there are several beautiful parks in the city and there are, of course, interesting museums. The nice thing is that you can explore this city by means of a cable car . Don’t skip the nightlife, because the Colombians love to dance there. You can party here until the early hours!

2. Tayrona National Park

On the Caribbean coast of Colombia, the jungle and the beach come together in a unique way. You will find golden sandy beaches with coconut palm trees here. On one side you look out at the sea, while on the other side you are stared at by a dense rainforest. In the sea you will find the most beautiful coral reefs (diving is great here!) and in the jungle you can walk beautifully. During a tour through Colombia you should definitely not skip the Tayrona National Park!

3. Tatacoa desert

In addition to beautiful cities, great beaches and unique rainforests, you will also find desert areas in Colombia. The Tatacoa Desert is located between Bogotá and San Agustin and has a very unique appearance. The desert consists of rocky hills created by the rain. This desert is reminiscent of a lunar landscape.

4. Lost City

Ciudad Perdida or ‘the lost city’ is located in the mountains near Santa Marta . This ancient Indian city is located in the middle of the Colombian Sierra Nevada and is hundreds of centuries old. This place can only be reached on foot and the walk of almost 50 kilometers is quite an experience. You will hike (climb) through the mountains and the wild jungle, then climb 1200 steps to the lost city. Once at the top, you will be spoiled for choice with one of the world’s most beautiful spots. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
